In my three scholarly sources, I have learned just how drastic the issue about the sweatshop industry is. The sweatshop industry continues to grow and is becoming very popular, especially among the developing countries and lower income families, but they are doing more harm than good. Lower income families rely on the sweatshops because that is their only source of income and way for keeping them alive. Despite the sweatshop industry having very poor working conditions, they are still making their profit due to the people that need a job, even if it a below minimum wage job and the exceptionally poor working conditions. What is very surprising to me about the sweatshops is the amount of people that actually have to rely on the sweatshops for their monthly income and the fact that the owners, as well as the managers in the sweatshops take huge advantage of their employees so that they can make their profit.
From my three sources, they all discussed their concern for the youth that are forced into the working field so soon and how the community should be focusing on their exploitation of children rather than pulling them out of the working field altogether. The biggest debate in all three of my articles is that sweatshop industries are like any other business owners; they just care about the profits that they make rather than the condition of their workers. The use of sweatshops are exploiting workers like any other business, but in a more unnerving and immoral way.
Although I have found several sources of information about my topic, my research still lacks the definition of what exactly a sweatshop is and the stand point about the abuse of child labor laws. I need to gather some more scholarly sources and maybe even some statistics about the growing sweatshop industry to help me gain some more information about my topic.

Sources about Sweatshops
While researching information about sweatshops in the United States I discovered that there is a numerous amount of information about this topic. I had to research the broad topic of sweatshops first and then narrow it down to the abuse of child labor laws in order to get specific information about what I am researching. Despite this being a very broad topic, the abuse of child labor laws, by narrowing down my key words it gave me several different aspects about this specific topic.
The different aspects that I found about my research topic is that they sorted it into several different case studies that were constructed, while others was just information about laws from the field of criminal justice. The criminal justice law field was very beneficial because it helped to get some more insight about the severity of the sweatshop situation that is becoming an increasing issue. This insight also helped to narrow my search even more now that I have a better understanding of the depth of my research topic.
With this new amount of information that I have gained, it allows me to open my eyes and realize just how much of an issue this has become over the years. Also, that with the existence of the sweatshop industry the abuse of child labor will continue to grow because the young are benefited with a very low paying job while the sweatshop industry will continue to earn money as long as they have workers are in desperate need of an annual income and have no other options open to them.

Sweatshops in the United States
Today, in the United States, the use of sweatshops is becoming an increasing problem among those who have difficulties finding a job. The sweatshop industry is on the rise because more people are unemployed and the sweatshops are an extremely low paying job, but it is an alternate source of income. However, the illegal employment of workers is causing the employers to bring in younger employees due to so many getting ill or in more severe cases terminated.
Should the sweatshops employ younger workers to replace the workers they lose?
How are the conditions of the sweatshop industry affecting the health of their employees?
How does the abuse of recruiting younger workers for the sweatshops affecting their families and the economy?
Why are sweatshops allowing younger workers to be employed when there are so many health hazards and violations?
The abuse of younger workers in the sweatshop industry is an important topic related to the United States because it is affecting families and causing the amount of health issues in Americans to rise due to unsanitary conditions. Plus, recruiting young workers for the sweatshops is violating the child labor laws which is causing more uprisings to occur.
Therefore, the abuse of younger workers in the sweatshop industry is becoming an increasing issue in the United States and should the sweatshop industry continue to allow younger workers to be employed in the sweatshop business?
